What's new in Breck's dining and nightlife scene?

November 7, 2016
Breckenridge is fun no matter if you're there with family, friends or perfect strangers. In fact families and groups of friends, seem to intermingle perfectly in Breckenridge as everyone is there to have a good time and enjoy the alpine environment and resort life.
When looking for dining and nightlife in Breckenridge the classic move is often to combine both dining and nightlife into one, (and sometimes still in your ski gear!)

Old school Breck regulars will tell you the long time staple for both dining and nightlife is the Mother Loaded restaurant and bar. They offer American style comfort food and have a creative selection of mixed drinks and juices along with a good selection of wines and craft beers. You'll often find live music there so it's basically a one-stop shop for dinner and after dinner.

But the new place to check out, especially if you're looking for a family friendly vibe, is the Blue Stag. Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown the Blue Stag Saloon is a small pizzeria with a variety of different options for food as well as an extensive bar menu. They have a great patio with an outdoor fireplace which gives it an especially social vibe. They welcome all comers into their log cabin-type environment inside, as well, made from recycled beetle kill. Bring the kids or stay late with the adults!

For a fun place to gather around as you mingle about the town, make sure to check out The Red Kiosk, open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. for great food and a fun place to hang out during a busy Breck bar hopping night.
Or, perhaps, maybe you want to get a good bite before going out. Soupz On has been getting glowing reviews on social media and for good reason, their rotating cast of more than 300 home made soups is definitely buzzworthy. They're located off the main drag slightly, behind Main Street on Park Street and are only open until 6 p.m.

Another fun place to check out if you're getting an early bite before going out is the Stella's Hungry Horse food truck. They have delicious burgers and are a classic Breckenridge spot, very laid back with good attention to their product and fair prices.

If you're looking to class it up a little more the Hearthstone is the perfect upscale option. The restaurant has a loyal, longtime following, as evidenced by their TripAdvisor profile where they are the only place to eat in Breckenridge which has garnered more than 1,000 reviews in Breckenridge to date. The remarkable part is that the thing that has inspired all these reviews is the restaurant's excellence. With over 1,000 reviews the Hearthstone has still managed to maintain a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on the world's largest travel review site.
