Summer is sneaking up on us. As the snow melts and the wildflowers blossom, Breckenridge experiences a rebirth. The charming mountain town becomes a hub for warm weather fun! Wondering what you can expect from your summer trip to Breckenridge? Think outdoors exploration, al fresco dining, and, of course, amazing festivals. Here's a peak at some of the top festivals to attend this summer!
June
Start your summer with a fun event like Breckenridge Sunday Market, AirStage Après Thursday Night, or Breckenridge Agave Fest! Breckenridge Sunday Market is a fantastic local market. Each Sunday from June 9, 2024 through September 8, 2024, you can come to Main Street Station to shop for crafts and produce. AirStage Après Thursday Nights are your opportunity to enjoy live music for FREE while relaxing in the sun and enjoying refreshments. You can join in the fun beginning on June 20, 2024 and then continuing throughout the summer! There's also Breckenridge Agave Fest, which is a brand new festival celebrating tequila and mezcal. Come enjoy tacos, drinks, and culture June 28-30, 2024!
July
July begins with a bang! (Symbolically, of course - Breckenridge doesn't allow fireworks.) Breckenridge's Independence Day Celebration will take place on July 4, 2024. The festivities include a 10K, a kids' bike race, the Firecracker 50 adults bike race, a parade, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and lots of live music! On July 13, 2024, craft beer lovers can attend the Breckenridge Beer Festival. A number of excellent breweries will be on-site for tastings. There will also be live music, a VIP area, and food and retail vendors. You can close out July with the iconic Breckenridge Food & Wine Festival, running July 26-28, 2024. This unique wine-tasting experience offers access to more than 300 wines from around the world.
August
August's festivals are diverse and plentiful. On August 11-16, 2024, mountain bikers can compete in the renown Breck Epic, which consists of six big backcountry loops, each between 35 and 50 miles long. It is challenging but fantastically fun! Breck Bike Week follows closely behind, on August 24-28, 2024. This week-long celebration pays tribute to Breckenridge's unrivaled backcountry trail network.
Looking for cultural events rather than sporting events? August has plenty to offer in that area as well! The Breckenridge International Festival of the Arts will take place August 16-25, 2024. This 10-day festival offers "an eclectic mix of music, dance, film, visual arts and family entertainment rooted in mountain culture and the natural environment." There's also the Wine Classic, which is an all-inclusive wine tasting festival, complete with live music and yummy food. Check it out August 22-24, 2024! End the month with the 37th Rubber Duck Race on August 31, 2024. This great fundraiser sees 10,000 rubber ducks race down the Blue River.
September
As ski season draws closer, the events start to shift. In September, you can enjoy Breckenridge's Oktoberfest and the Breck Film Fest. Oktoberfest will take place September 13-15, 2024. Come join in time-honored traditions and sip tasty beers at the top Oktoberfest in Colorado. Breck Film Fest features phenomenal movies from around the world! Come see what movie magic they have selected to screen September 19-22, 2024.
