Skiers and snowboarders can grab their passes and wax the skis and snowboards for Breckenridge Ski Resort’s opening day Saturday, Nov. 19. The 2016-2017 winter ski and snowboard season will kick-off with complimentary French Toast Sticks, opening announcements and Colorado SuperChair spinning its chairs at 9 a.m.
“Thanks to Mother Nature’s recent snow and the hard-work of the Breckenridge Mountain Operations team, we’re ready and excited to open for the winter season on Peak 8,” said Gary Shimanowitz, Vice President of Mountain Operations. “Breckenridge Ski Resort is focused on providing excellent snow conditions for all of our guests and we hope everyone enjoys getting the winter season started this weekend.”
Opening Day on Saturday will begin with the free BreckConnect Gondola running at 8 a.m., complimentary French Toast Sticks being handed out from Ski Hill Grill while supplies last and DJ DC spinning music on the snow by Colorado SuperChair. Opening announcements from Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Chief Operating Officer, John Buhler, will take place at 8:50 a.m. and Colorado SuperChair will start at 9 a.m. FREE parking will be available for Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20 only in the North and South Gondola lots in town and FREE photo prints from EpicMix Photo will be available at the base of Peak 8 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Breckenridge Ski Resort will open with Colorado SuperChair and Springmeier trail available for skiing and snowboarding. Breckenridge will announce any additional terrain as conditions allow on Breckenridge.com, Facebook.com/Breckenridge, and @Breckenridgemtn on Twitter.
Lifts will be open early season from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Uphill access is not yet allowed at Breckenridge Ski Resort.
