While spring has sprung in Breckenridge, most locals refer to this timeframe as "mud season." And, for somewhat good reason. The snow is melting and the trails are a little "muddy," hence the name. But, that does not mean town is muddy, it's actually muddled with the best deals of the year, which makes "mud season" a great time to try some of Breckenridge's top cuisine.
Some of the restaurants do close from the end of ski season until about mid-May. As we approach this timeframe, the sun is shining, the days are warmer and longer, which provide for some great patio and deck weather at the restaurants.
