Breckenridge Recreation Center: Ice Skating and Snowshoeing

 

Ice skating is a fun activity that everyone in your family can enjoy regardless of age or skill level. A winter activity without the exposure to the elements, indoor ice skating is available to the public at the Stephen C West Arena, located on Boreas Pass Road. The affordable admission rates and skate rentals make this an easy alternative to being outside in the snow. 

 

The Recreation Center also offers snowshoeing tours at the Gold Run Nordic Center. Snowshoe rentals are available and a trail map is provided to guests who want to explore the snowy trails on their own. For those who prefer the company of an expert, several guided tours are offered including one that covers the mining history of Breckenridge. Guided moonlight tours are also available.

Breckenridge has a thriving art district and as a visitor, it's easy to feel inspired by the beautiful views surrounding the town. Mountain Top Children's Museum

 

For another indoor activity, have fun and stimulate young minds at the same time at the Mountain Top Children's Museum. Located at the south end of Main St., the museum provides hands-on learning activities for children as young as toddlers. These activities include science experiments, arts and crafts, and endless pretend play. In addition to their hands-on exhibits, the Mountain Top Museum provides a "kid's night out" for ages 4-12 where children are provided dinner and fun activities away from their parents!
