In a surprise announcement this March, the Vail Resort system announced that they'd be extending ski season at seven of their legendary resorts. Breckenridge was given the go-ahead to remain open well into May, as had already been planned. You can hit Breckenridge's spectacular slopes until Memorial Day!
With two months left in Breckenridge's ski season, there's fantastic spring ski fun to be had! You can fit an outstanding number of runs into a two month span.
The late season close date is enabled by Breckenridge's elevation. At 9,600 feet above sea-level, Breckenridge offers premium spring ski conditions and one of the longest-running ski seasons of any major resort in the United States. There's warmer weather, bright sunshine, and, on occasion, spring powder days! Spring skiing doesn't get any better than this!
Of course, the long season is totally dependent on the snowfall. So, what comes next? Will the snow keep falling? OpenSnow says yes! We are expecting to see 11 more inches in the next few days, with more snow on the horizon shortly after.
