If you’re like most families spending time in Breckenridge this winter, you came to ski. Whether your kids are going out with you or joining a lesson packed day of ski school, they are bound to want a break. It’s winter and there is so much to do! With these three winter activities for kids, you won’t have to question if they are having fun this winter vacation.
Tubing and Sledding
There are several tube parks in the area including at Fiasco Adventure Park and Keystone Ski Resort. For a more local (and FREE) experience, check out our own sledding hill in Carter Park. Buy a sled from town, warm up some hot cocoa, and enjoy endless fun as kids rush up and down.
Ice Skating
Skating around on some ice is a great way for your kids to stay active on a day off from skiing and maybe even try something new! You can find public open skating as well as several lessons at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. Simply skate around, or participate in an ice sport such as curling or hockey! For a more magical experience, head outside to their outdoor rink (beautiful mountain views free of charge).
Climbing, Swimming, and more
Inside the Breckenridge Recreation Center you will find more than just a pool. Your kids will never be bored as they explore the indoor climbing wall or play in the swimming pool (equipped with a slide!). Basketball courts, tennis courts, AND a playground. Not only is this a great place for your kiddos, but for you too! While your kids have fun and make friends, you can take advantage of the weight room, cardio room, hot tubs, or coed sauna. Yes, they really do have it all. The perfect place to go on a cold winter day.
