55th Ullr Fest is going to be crazy

Breckenridge is known as one of the most authentic and fun ski towns. If you do not believe it, visit next week for one of the wildest parties of the ski season — the 55th Ullr Fest. Snow lovers of all ages are welcome to give their tribute to the Norse god of snow with a great schedule of events starting on the 10th and going through the 13th.

The party starts with the Crowning of the Ullr King and Queen on Wednesday, January 10th. Continuing a long tradition, two local residents will be chosen as the Ullr King and Queen for their contributions in the community. This will take place at the Riverwalk Center doors open at 6 p.m.

On Thursday, January 11th, the Urll Shot Ski will help in Breck's attempt to regain the record for the town with the world’s longest shot ski. The event is sponsored by Breckenridge Distillery stars at 4pm on Main Street and everybody 21 and older is encouraged to come and help beat the record currently held by Park City. Participation fee is $10 and all the proceeds are going to Breckenridge Mountain Rotary.

Ullr Fat Tire Bike Race
The fat bike race is set to start at 4:30 launching the Urll parade. Last year the event attracted 70 competitors and it is expected to get even more participants this year. The race will start at Main St. and continue into the French Gulch trail network for a great mix of terrain.

Ullr Parade
The main event of the festival os the Ullr Fest Parade. Colorful display of wild winter fun will spread down Main St. creating. An amazing party atmosphere for both participants and spectators. The Parade is scheduled for 4:30pm right after the start of the bike race.

Ullr Bonfire
You cannot have a winter gods tribute festival without a good bonfire. Breckenridge invites you to retire your Christmas tree in style and join the town for a bonfire from 5pm to 7pm at the South Gondola parking lot.

Friday, January 12
Ullr Ice Plunge
Show your loyalty to the winter and prove your endurance to the cold by plunging into the ice waters of Maggie Pond. There will be music, food, drinks and laughter. They will also hold a competition for the Best Plunge Costume so come dressed to impress. The event will happen between 2pm and 4pm.

Comedy Night
Ullr Fest's comedy night will feature Jimmy Dunn — a professional stand-up comedian from Boston. The evening is scheduled to start at 5pm.

Saturday, January 13
Family snow day
Starting at 11am bring the family to Carter Park to play in the snow and share with the little ones how to channel their inner Ullr. Enjoy some awesome sledding, snowman building, and other fun family activities.

Ice Skating Party
In the early afternoon on Saturday the whole family is invited to join In some ice skating and free kids Ullr helmet decorating at Steven C. West Ice Arena, located at 189 Boreas Pass Rd.

Wild and Scenic Film Festival

6:00 pm – 9:30 pm in the Riverwalk Center, 150 W Adams Ave. Continental Divide Land Trust and HC3 have partnered once again to bring you the 6th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Breckenridge. This festival portrays individuals and communities across the globe solving climate change issues revolving around water conservation, energy, food systems, biodiversity, resource management, and the protection and restoration of wild lands and wild waters. You’ll explore the world improving movements with leading environmental activists and professionals, filmmakers and celebrities, celebrating the natural and human world in all its diversity.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is the closing event of Ullr Festival, and provides inspiration for the whole family. Beer, wine, soda, and movie snacks are available for purchase.
